Growth Stock

What is Growth Stock?

A stock of a company expected to grow revenue or earnings faster than average.

Understanding Growth Stock

Growth companies often reinvest profits rather than pay dividends, and their shares tend to trade at high price-to-earnings ratios because investors pay for expected future growth.

Because so much of their value depends on the future, growth stocks can be especially sensitive to changes in interest rates and expectations.
